Genetic heredity, diet, and way of living all play a role in working out how much cholesterol is present in your blood stream. If your cholesterol readings are high the doctor&#8217;s most important step, always, will be to put you on a cholesterol lowering diet to bring your cholesterol into line. The goals of a cholesterol lowering diet are numerous and include : </p>
<p>* Weight Reduction:  if you&#8217;re over your ideal weight. <br />* those people that have a weight problem are typically at higher risk and have higher cholesterol levels than folk with perfect weight. Limit the quantity of foods that are high in saturated fat. <br />* One of your goals should always be to reduce the total amount of fat in your diet. By limiting all fat you will also limit the amount of saturated fats. And, since fats are the most concentrated source of calories limiting total fat consumption will also reduce the amount of calories you eat every day. Increase the amount of foods with complicated carbs. <br />* Fruits, veg, pasta, cereals and rice are all glorious sources of both starch and fiber. </p>
<p>Though cholesterol is a natural substance and is required for general fitness, the western diet is much too heavy in high cholesterol foods.</p>
<p>Generally any food that&#8217;s's an animal product will have raised levels of cholesterol including dairy foods and fish. Meat that come from animal organs, as an example liver, and egg yolks are especially high in cholesterol and may be evaded.
