Our hair is one of those critical things that shape the notion of beauty. Since a long time ago, hair has given men percieved power. Everyone knows the tragic fabel of Samson who lost his amazing power when his wife Delilah had cut his long hair off.
Now it’s more the matter of looks and beauty rather than power and strength. And practically everybody realizes why: plenty of ads, healthy lifestyle propaganda and the social dimension of human existence. The problem is that the more we care about our hair, the less hairs we seem to have on our head. The community is facing the catastrophe of hair loss, which means more money and time will be invested on hair in the future.
The crisis is somewhere in between environmental situation, stress, genes and harder brain work. Yet,hundreds of specialists that try to work the problem out are not totally positive about the real root of the hair loss pandemic all over the globe. It’s mostly individual and can be either one negative component or the group of negative factors that lead to it.
Every hair on our body has its own follicle to grow from. The follicles make cells that eventually turn into hairs. So, hairs are the dead cells that have been pushed out of a follicle. It is normal to lose 50-100 hairs daily. If someone loses more, that can ultimately lead to baldness.
Baldness is not that much catastrophic as it seems to be. It can be treated more or less successfully by unique drugs like Propecia, and what’s more – it is not dangerous for your well-being. Yet, the numbers show that about fifty percent of men of the world suffer from slight or severe baldness and the age groups go down averaging at 30-40 years of age.
People that start losing hair typically have to follow simple rules to avoid additional hair loss. But if the problem grows to real baldness it is advisable that you talk to a specialist first. Still, preventing methods are also appreciated. Hair needs care every day. It is generally advised that you wash your hair due to your hair type and if you do that every day, then you will need to get hold of an appropriate shampoo and balsam, especially in summer.
Yet, it is quite hard to stay cool, when there are so many myths concerning hair and baldness. Most of them basically are concerning men, as males are accepted to suffer from baldness more than women. In actual fact, men suffer from the so called horse-shoe pattern around the sides of their head which makes the baldness more obvious.
Another matter has something to do with the genetical theory of hair loss attaching a rumor that it is just enough to have a look at a father and you may see his son when he becomes older, this is not biologically correct as it assumes the sole influence of father’s genes in forming the son’s cells.
Popular hair loss myths also include:
- it is harmful for the hair to wear a hat etc.
- it is in vain to care about my hair as I can not prevent my old age baldness anyway.
- baldness can be one of the side effects of shampoo/balsam overuse.
